O-O-O Oxygen! Are you causing cell mutations?

Oxygen.  It's a powerful thing, ya know?  One of those necessary things we HAVE to have in order to live.  But are you getting enough?  Are you giving your body what it truly needs to function?

Sure, we all breathe oxygen every day.  That's how we stay alive.  But did you know that your cells NEED oxygen (I mean, of course you do, but there's more to it)?

Every cell in our body can carry oxygen to our organs. It's part of how our body works without us even thinking about it.

But when you're depriving the body of oxygen, either via inactivity, stress, viruses, bacteria and more, those cells of yours are going to do every thing in their power to stay alive - to keep YOU alive, so they begin to mutate.

This cell mutation allows a cell that's supposed to live in an aerobic environment (i.e. oxygen rich), but that's hanging out in an anaerobic environment, to survive to keep you alive and well.  This is often the beginning of what we know as cancer. (<-- It's a survival mechanism, not a disease! Consider cancer a wake up call to change the way you're living! More on this on another day)

Now, I'm not going to get too deep on the cancer front here, but I want to point out that so much of diseases today in the body are influenced by the amount of oxygen we're allowing into our body.

Think about when you're stressed. It's likely that you're not getting proper exercise, you're running on fumes, and your anxiety levels are high.  Your breathing is probably more shallow than normal, so you're not taking in as much oxygen as you would if you were relaxed, breathing deeper.  So your body goes into a stressed state, trying to get oxygen to all the cells and organs, but you're just running thin.  This is a recipe for disaster, as far as your health and cells are concerned. They're panicking, and you're suffering because of it.

So what do we do? How can we assist our body in the most supportive way possible?  Here are a few tips to keep the oxygen flowing.

1. Calm, deep breathing.  You've heard it before, but I'm going to say it again. You HAVE to take a step back from your stress filled life and take a few deep breaths.  Not only can this have a profound effect on your health, you can manage anxiety and stress much better if you're breathing right.  Taking some deep, belly breaths can really center you and relieve that anxiety, or stop you from heading down that anxiety-ridden spiral staircase that we so often fall.

2. Mindfulness meditation.  This goes a bit along with tip number 1. When you take the time for yourself to meditate, you're able to slow down and really allow your body the space and time to relax.  Being mindful means living in the moment; feeling every feel, hearing every sound, and taking it all in without the worry or concern for the future, or the stress of the past.  Accepting your feelings and emotions as they come without trying to push them off or fight them away, is such a powerful way to take control of your life.

3. Ozone therapy.  This is by far one of the most powerful tips I believe anyone suffering any serious illness can incorporate into their healing regimen. Ozone is all around us. It's what makes the sky blue! But by harnessing the power of ozone in the body, you can create an oxygen rich playing field that almost all viruses, bacteria, and fungi do NOT like. When you introduce ozone into the bloodstream, the oxygen inactivates viruses and bacteria like no other. There have been studies showing that ozone can inactivate the herpes virus, EBV, even HIV. Some doctors believe some cancers initiate from exposure to a virus, so if you can inactivate that virus, you're one step ahead of the healing path.

Ozone has been shown too, to heal autoimmune issues, restore the oxygen balance in cells, and provide a "cleansing and purification" of the blood.  If you're dealing with blood disorders, ozone therapy may be a powerful tool you can implement into your healing plan.

Ozone is an integral part of my healing and what I believe to be the most powerful.  The moment I introduced ozone therapy, my skin started clearing up, I FELT better, I had less anxiety, and I just knew I was doing something so powerful and good for my body.

4. Exercise. This seems like a no-brainer, but I'm going to include it as well. The more active you are, the more oxygen you're taking in, thus the more oxygen you're getting to all your cells. If you're suffering from a major health issue, this can seem tricky at first. Trust me, I get it. When I would be anemic, the last thing I could do was exercise without feeling so fatigued and out of breath - I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest! If you can, just get walking, even if it's just around your house.  Another great exercise that's easy on the joints and body is rebounding. Not only is this an excellent way to increase your oxygen, you're also moving the lymph system which is SO necessary if you're detoxing or dealing with a major health issue like cancer.

No matter what your health looks like, your age, sex, race, or anything, we're all human and we all have the same basic build up in our body. We need oxygen, our cells need oxygen, and if you're depriving that basic need, you're creating a storm within your own body.

What ways do you incorporate in your healing regimen that ensure you're getting the oxygen your body needs? Let me know in the comments below.
